In our second year, the AJ Birkbeck Scholarship was awarded to Holden Nelson, who is working on his PhD in Integrative Biology at Michigan State University. Last year’s recipient, Ethan Coffin,used his scholarship to fund sampling of PFAS foam in wastewater, to help develop a device to remove it. He has a patent pending on the device, and his research was just published in the Journal of Hazardous Materials.
