Wolverine CAG’s Tannery Restoration comments

Members of the Wolverine CAG have expressed concerns about the climate resiliency of the updated restoration plan. 24 (12 sugar maples and 12 northern red oaks) of the 70 trees are already in the southern limits of their range, and this boundary is expected to shift farther north as climate change progresses. These 24 trees have little climate resiliency and would be optimally swapped out for trees that are better suited for warmer regions.
